When you use CitationZen, we collect the website URLs you submit for auditing, your email address if you create an account or purchase a report, business details you provide during signup such as company name and company size, and usage data including pages visited, features used, and audit frequency. We collect only what is necessary to deliver and improve our service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to perform AI visibility audits on the websites you submit, to generate and deliver audit reports and scores, to send you reports, notifications, and service updates related to your account, and to analyze aggregate usage patterns in order to improve CitationZen's features, accuracy, and reliability. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

CitationZen relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Supabase provides authentication and database infrastructure. Vercel handles hosting and deployment. Stripe processes all payments securely. During audits, we query AI engines including OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), and Perplexity to assess your brand's visibility. Each of these providers has their own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

Data Retention

Audit data, including crawled page content, scores, and AI engine responses, is retained for 12 months from the date the audit was performed. Account data, including your email address and profile information, is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Cookies

CitationZen uses essential cookies only. These are required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies. Your browsing activity on CitationZen is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Your Rights

You have the right to request a full export of your data at any time, to request deletion of your account and all associated data, and to opt out of non-essential communications such as marketing emails. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below. We will respond to all requests within 14 business days.
